DESCRIPTION:Cane River Creole National Historical Park to host first InstaMeet for local photographers on the social media platform Instagram on Sunday\, August 25 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Oakland Plantation.\n\n \n\n"Instagram defines an InstaMeet as a group of Instagrammers meeting up to take photos and videos together\," said Chief of Interpretation Barbara Justice. "This a great opportunity to meet other Instagrammers in the area and have a behind the scenes photo opportunity!"\n\n \n\nJoin us as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Cane River National Heritage Area and the national park along with the 103rd birthday of the National Park Service. This park organized the event in collaboration with our friends at Cane River National Heritage Area and the Natchitoches Convention and Visitors Bureau. All photographers are welcome and the event is FREE. A park ranger will join the InstaMeet photo walk to provide a little history and access to areas not usually open to the public\, with plenty of time to explore and take photographs. \n\n \n\n#InstaMeetOaklandPlantation. Oakland Plantation is located at 4386 Highway 494\, Natchez\, Louisiana.  \n\n \n\nThe grounds of Oakland and Magnolia Plantations are open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nearly 80 original buildings remain\, many open for self-guided tours including several that are historically furnished. The park also offers a cell phone tour. Park staff conducts daily tours of the plantation grounds and historically furnished rooms in the Oakland Main House. The Magnolia Main House is privately owned and is not open to the public.
