\n\n\n\nLike many of the citizens of Natchitoches Parish\, Marcy Frantom loved listening to the stories of the mostly unwritten history of our rural lands. Her father noticed she was a reader and listener and so took her around to the farm supply and general stores to listen to men talk about their exploits. Her mother let her listen to friends and family talk about relationships and homemaking. She has started writing poems about these memories of oral history shaped by her study of history and folklore at NSU.
