SUMMARY:NSU STEM Day for High Schoolers
DESCRIPTION:Northwestern State University's School of Science\, Technology\, Engineering and Mathematics will host STEM Day Friday\, Sept. 29 for high schoolers interested in exploring career opportunities in STEM fields.  Participants will be able to meet faculty and fellow students and learn about degree programs and scholarships.\n\nThe School of STEM includes the Department of Biological and Microbiology\, the Department of Engineering Technology\, the Division of Mathematics\, the Department of Physical Science and the Department of Veterinary Technology.\n\nSTEM Day will take place in Bienvenu Hall from 8 a.m.-noon for students in grades 9-12.  Students can choose to explore topics that most interest them by selecting from biomedical/microbiology\, natural science/ecology\, veterinary science\, chemistry and physics or mathematics/engineering.  Students will learn about degree programs and participate in hands-on educational demonstrations.\n\n"Students will experience what a day in the life of a STEM major is like and explore college life through an introduction to the NSU School of STEM\," said Dr. Chris Lyles\, director of the School.
