English Learner (EL) Paraprofessional

Natchitoches Parish School Board is seeking a dedicated and student-centered English Learner (EL) Paraprofessional to support multilingual learners in achieving academic success.

Position Details:

• Position: English Learner (EL) Paraprofessional
• Employment: 9-Month Position
• Salary: In accordance with the Natchitoches Parish School Board Paraprofessional Salary Schedule

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Meets state and district requirements for paraprofessional employment
• Bilingual/second language proficiency preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for supporting students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional support to English Learner (EL) students under the direction of certified staff.
• Assist students in developing English language proficiency while supporting grade-level academic instruction
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and district EL staff
• Help create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for multilingual learners
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Professional Learning:
No prior experience working with English Learners is required. The district will provide ongoing training, coaching, and support to equip the selected candidate with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively support EL students.
