Deputy Executive Director

The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts - a nationally recognized residential high school for high-achieving students - is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Deputy Executive Director. This senior role supports and represents the Executive Director, providing leadership across academic, residential, operational, and compliance functions. Starting date is July 1, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as LSMSA's Title VII & Title IX Coordinator; manage reports, investigations, training, and compliance efforts. 
  • Lead strategic planning and institutional initiatives. 
  • Oversee daily operations and supervise key division leaders (academics, finance/operations/IT, support services, student life, enrollment).
  • Manage food service contracts, operations, inspections, and quality improvement.
  • Support policy development, compliance, accreditation, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with academic and student services leaders to enhance student experience.
  • Assist with personnel recruitment, evaluation, and organizational culture.
  • Represent LSMSA in external relations, partnerships, and public events.
A master's degree in education, public administration, organizational leadership, or a related field is required, along with significant leadership experience in education or a comparable setting; strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; and demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex operations. A doctoral degree (Ed.D. or Ph.D.), experience in residential or gifted education environments, familiarity with Louisiana's education systems and policies, and experience with strategic planning, accreditation, or institutional assessment are preferred.
