SUMMARY:Celebrate National Library Week
DESCRIPTION:The Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) invites the community to join in celebrating National Library Week from April 7 11 with a week full of food\, prizes\, and fun activities! Throughout the week\, NPL will also be offering free replacement library cards to all patrons.\n\nThe NPL Main Branch will feature activities such as the "Judge a Book by its Cover" matching activity\, in which patrons are challenged to match book covers with their summaries. All participants may spin the Wheel of Wonders to win a prize when turning in their answer forms\, and patrons who guess 6 or more correctly will also win an NPL Mug. Patrons can also participate in book-themed activities such as creating a blackout poetry composition.\n\nThe large bulletin board on the first floor in the Children's Area will be decorated for use as special background for a selfie stop so patrons can preserve the memory of their library visit during this special week. The Children's Area will also host a book cover collage activity for children and adults to craft a masterpiece with characters from their favorite picture books.\n\nThe NPL Main Branch will offer free cookies\, coffee\, and tea every weekday morning\, from 9-11AM at "Star Books"\, the NPL's designated area for food and drink on the second floor that has a Keurig for patron use. Free popcorn will also be offered to all patrons Monday through Friday from 3-5:30 PM at both the Main Branch and the Northeast Branch in Campti. Both locations will also have a cake to share with visiting patrons on Friday as part of the celebration.\n\nPatrons are encouraged to join the NPL Staff by wearing whimsical attire throughout the week with the following outfit themes for each day:\n\nMon: Pajamas (Let the library take you to the places of your dreams)\n\nTue: Retro flashback (The library knows old school)\n\nWed: Crazy Socks (The library will knock your socks off)\n\nThu: Hat Day (Tip your hats to our fabulous patrons)\n\nFri: Team Apparel (Team up with the NPL)\n\nSat: Red (Be well read)\n\nCome celebrate the joy of reading and community at your local library!
