7th Annual Drums Along the River

The seventh Annual Drums Along the River concert will be on Friday, Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m. on the Downtown Riverbank in Natchitoches. The concert will feature the Spirit of Northwestern Percussion Section under the direction of Dr. Steven Wimberly and the NSU Steel PanDEMONium Band under Dr. Oliver Molina. The drumline will perform stand cadences, traditional school sonds and show music.

The steel band is comprised of instruments from the island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. The unique timbre and infectous dance beats make it a fun and exciting concert. The program will include some island classics such as "Limbo" and "Jump in the Line" as well as pop songs such as "Human Nature" by Michael Jackson and "The Fate of Ophelia" by Taylor Swift.
