The Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches (APHN)
presents their monthly Tri-Centennial event
Sports & Recreation Exhibit

The event consists of a display of artifacts, photos and other materials associated with the Cane River Bait Company established in Natchitoches in 1959 by country singer/song writer Johnny Horton and his business partner Johnny Cash. On display will be an extensive collection of lures manufactured by the Cane River Bait Company and Johnny Horton's personal fishing tackle and memorabilia, provided by Gary Robinson of Nacogdoches, Texas. A portion of Herman and Arleen Mayeux's antique lure and fishing tackle collection will also be on display.
There will also be a display telling the story of the
Melrose Baseball team.
The display was organized by APHN members Gary Cathey and Justin Norman.
