Art Along the Bricks
Natchitoches Art Guild Ushers in Spring with Art Along the Bricks

This year is shaping up to be the biggest Art Along the Bricks. To date, over thirty vendors have committed to being on hand Saturday, March 24, 2012, on Front Street for the event. The block between Church Street and Trudeau will be closed to vehicular traffic allow booths to be spread along both sides of the street for vendors’ displays. Amongst the offerings by artists and artisans will be paintings, drawings, egg art, jewelry, baskets, fired clay items, mosaics, wire sculptures, turned wood bowls, scroll saw work, gourds and more unique items. Some of the participants will be offering demonstrations. Members of the Natchitoches Art Guild will be offering baked goods, and word on the street is that Billy with Cane Brake Café is working on a special cupcake to commemorate the event.
Special exhibits are in place in the gallery, and Featured Artist Mike Yoist, will be in the gallery from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. to meet visitors to his show. Prior to 1:00 p.m., Mike will be painting outside, demonstrating his plein air technique. New to the event this year are musical performers who will be keeping things lively throughout the day. Some of the scheduled performers include guild member Linda Lyles and friends, Danny Wisher, and Chris Wilson. The guild is still accepting both vendors and performers for the event.
