Cane River Zydeco Festival and River Run

In downtown Natchitoches, the Cane River Zydeco Festival & Poker Run will be held both Friday (Aug. 31) and Saturday (Sept. 1) on the downtown riverbank.  Scheduled entertainment includes DJ the Music Man, Jeremy & the Zydeco Hot Boyz and Rusty Metoyer & Zydeco Krush.  Admission for Saturday only.

Saturday, Sept. 1 – 1pm – 11pm

9-11am Poker Run Registration – Downtown Riverbank

Cost $25 per rider/$15 each additional rider

Includes t-shirt & armband for Zydeco concert

Poker run 80-100 miles through Kisatchie National Forest & along the scenic Cane River Lake past historic plantations. Best poker hand wins a cash prize.

Gates open at 1pm – Admission $7

The Cane River Zydeco Festival began in 1999 by members of the Magnolia State Police Officers Association, Cane River Branch. The Magnolia State Peace Officer’s Association is the state wide organization that started the Toys for Tots program. They also help the community through other various programs such as community service, Shop with a Cop, food baskets and preparing Thanksgiving dinners for underprivileged families. Proceeds from this event assist in funding various community functions around Natchitoches Parish.
