Characters, Customs, Crypts Tour

The tour of the American Cemetery will include stops to visit characters sharing their life stories and mourning memorabilia displays with members providing commentary on the pre-Civil War traditions surrounding death and burial. Characters include Louis Juchereau de St Denis, Claude Thomas Pierre Metoyer, Susan Harling Robinson, Eliza Payne and James Henry Williams, the Alphonse L?Herisson family, Mayor Theodore Edward Poleman, Bobby DeBlieux and Irma Sompayrac Willard. Foundation members and students from the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts will portray characters and entertain guests with stories about Natchitoches history.

Location

The American Cemetery, the Second Street cemetery entrance adjacent to Holy Cross Catholic Church will be used as tour entrance.

Fees/Admission

Tickets for the event are $10 for adults, $5 for students and children under 12 are admitted for free with paying adult. Tickets will be available Saturday in front of the Steel Magnolia House from 9 a.m.-noon and at the cemetery site beginning at 4:45 p.m. Cash only.
