Northwestern State University will hold a spring cheer clinic from 9 a.m-2 p.m. Saturday, May 19 in the Health and Human Performance Building. Squads and individuals are welcome.
Participants will be divided into age groups. Younger girls will learn basic cheers and the Demon fight song while junior high girls will learn all-girl partner stunting, cheers and the fight song. High school girls will learn all of the above and have the opportunity to learn basic guy/girl stunting. High schoolers will also have the opportunity to learn a pep rally routine or home routine for camp. Seniors can practice stunting to prepare for college cheerleading auditions. A medical release form is required to participate.
The cost to participate is $30, which includes a sack lunch. The cost for squads of eight or more is $20 per student. Spots should be reserved by Friday, May 18. Parents are welcome to watch.
