Free Community Tax Services

Seniors in Natchitoches Parish have a free no-appointment-needed opportunity to get help with their taxes, Medicare benefits, and health insurance coverage, all at their local library. 

The Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) will host its annual Free Community Tax Services event at the Main Branch, 450 Second Street, on Wednesday, March 18, and Thursday, March 19. Qualified tax professionals from Community Tax Services of Baton Rouge will be available in NPL's 3rd Floor Meeting Room from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm on Wednesday and from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm on Thursday. The event is open to all library patrons age 55 and older, and no appointment is required. 

Attendees can receive personalized assistance filing their 2025 taxes, understanding updates to their Medicare benefits, and reviewing any existing health insurance coverage. Tax forms and instruction booklets are also available at both NPL branches throughout the filing season, giving residents the tools they need whether they attend the event or prefer to file independently.
