Students in Northwestern State University’s Hospitality Management and Tourism program will present the popular biennial International Festival of Cultures and Cuisines from 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 24 in the 500 block of Front Street in downtown Natchitoches.
“Guests can stroll from booth to booth enjoying food and wine from such exotic locations as India, Japan, France, Chile, Argentina, Russia, Australia, Greece, Hollywood, Calif., and Morocco,” said Dr. Lynn Woods, professor and faculty sponsor of the event. “You can even see live belly dancers and maybe even their pet boa constrictor. It’s an afternoon of fun, food, music and culture.”
Costumed students serve food and wine to guests who purchase coupons for $1 each at the Hawaii booth. All proceeds go towards the Hospitality Management and Tourism Foundation. Students also demonstrate ethnic music and dancing.
