Meet Walter Delphin

Boots in the Grass is Walter Delphin’s autobiography. It is part historical novel set amidst the Creole culture in the Cane River farm community of Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, and it also covers his time in Chicago, Illinois and Los Angeles, California as a young man.

His story takes you through the elephant grass of the Vietnam War, his subsequent personal heartbreak after returning from the war, and his life-long struggle with PTSD. Join us as Walter reads excerpts from his book at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum. Hear his story, meet him in person, and buy a signed copy of his new book.
