Natchitoches Art Gallery will host an Open House
Classic car lovers will return to Natchitoches in October displaying their wonderful vintage restorations, and to honor those participants the Natchitoches Art Guild will host a reception on Saturday, October 6th in the gallery from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The members of the guild have worked on special art pieces reflecting respect for those who so lovingly restore classic vehicles. The September/October window display was skillfully executed by members of the hanging crew utilizing those art works and special items loaned for the occasion. Included as a prop in the north window is a handmade cedar truck on loan from Jo Lapeyrouse. Jo received the truck from artist Everett Forrest of Waldron Arkansas. Mr. Forrest won blue ribbons at both the Scott County Fair and the Arkansas State Fair with his cedar truck.
The south window features a roadster, also handmade on loan from Dr. Bill Bryant. The metal car was made by Tom Bryant, brother of Dr. Bill. Tom Bryant also hails from Arkansas. The guild greatly appreciates the generosity of the creators and owners of those fine art pieces who have allow us to share them with visitors to Front Street.
