Nightscapes at Oakland Plantation

Cane River Creole National Historical Park will host an evening lantern walk of the grounds of Oakland Plantation on Friday, November 17th. Join us and see Oakland in a different light - by lanterns! A Park Guide will lead a tour around the historic grounds, and visitors will experience the sights and sounds of the plantation at night. If the skies are clear, a constellation talk will be included.
"Oakland Plantation at night is quite an experience," said Interpretation Manager Barbara Justice. "We are pleased to offer the opportunity to explore the grounds by lantern light and to provide a special way for the community to experience their park."
Each participant carries a lantern as park staff guides the group on an outdoor walking tour of the grounds of historic Oakland Plantation. Visitors will learn about significant people and events in Oakland Plantation's history.
