NSU Writing Camp

The Northwestern State University Writing Project will host two summer writing camps on June 12-16 and 19-23.
 
            The first camp on June 12-16 is for adolescent writers in grades 7-12. The second camp on June 19-23 is for young writers in grades 2-5. The camps will held Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the third floor of Kyser Hall on NSU’s Natchitoches campus. The fee for each camp is $125.
 
The purpose of these camps is to help students develop their writing and share their work in a lively, interactive and supportive community.
 
The camps will feature writing exercises designed to jumpstart thinking and improve student’s craft, exploration of the work of published authors to use as models, freedom to explore individual writing interests, opportunities to collaborate with instructors and peers and receive constructive feedback and provide a place for students to see themselves as writers with unique voices.
