Opening Reception Member Preview Reception Friday, March 1, 6-8pm Celebrate Community through Art! Five new exhibitions at the Alexandria Museum of Art draw on aspects of the local community: ?Immersive Space,? highlights three Louisiana artists: Natchitoches-native Colin O?Con, Lee Deigaard, and Shawn Hall, who have created installations in response to the surrounding Kisatchie National Forest and central Louisiana landscape. ?Ray Turner: Population,? includes portraits of 22 local community members. ?Cora Kelley Ward (1920-1989) & Traces of the Bauhaus? features large paintings by a Eunice-born artist who studied with prominent former-Bauhaus instructors. ?The Muse: Explorations in Abstract Expressionism? features art created by The Muse Teen Club during the recent Active Action Abstract painting workshop. The Muse, Alexandria Museum of Art Teen Club, is an arts club created by teens for teens to plan fun activities and arts workshops.?Youth Art Month: Art Shapes the World,? highlights art by local youth in collaboration with area schools in celebration of Youth Art Month in March.
