Regional Manufacturing Council Meeting

Doors open at 8:30 a.m. with the event kicking off at 9 a.m. and running to 1 p.m. with lunch included.  
 
Presenters for the event include:

•   Dennis Epps, Senior Vice President for Workforce Solutions, La. Community & Technical College System, Baton Rouge. Current and pending LCTCS apprenticeship initiatives; role of Certification for Manufacturing with internships/apprenticeships.

 

•  Robin Schott, Regional Director, Project Lead the Way, Oklahoma City, OK. Role of Project Lead the Way K-12 initiatives with internships/apprenticeships.

 

•   Dennis Parker, Assistant Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Career Pathways Development, Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, Georgetown, KY. Toyota apprenticeship model.

 

•    Woody Oge^’, Retired Director of Business Affairs, Ingalls Shipbuilding-Avondale Operations; Chair, Board of Supervisors, La. Community & Technical College System, Gretna. Ingalls Shipbuilding-Avondale apprenticeship model.

 
 
Following these presentations, there will be a working session to discuss the direction manufacturers in each of the two regions would like to take on the apprenticeship front and discuss next steps for each manufacturing council. 

In addition, there will be discussion on the next steps for the regional LCTCS groups and next steps for the state LCTCS group to support the feedback and direction provided by the regional manufacturers.
