
“Blue Window, Santa Catalina Convent, Arequipa, Peru” by Robbie Lacomb, 2012
The work of Robbie Lacomb, instructor and gallery curator for the Department of Visual Arts at Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas, will be the subject matter of an exhibition at Northwestern State University’s Hanchey Gallery Oct. 16-Nov. 16.
Lacomb’s work has been exhibited world-wide, including at American University, Paris, France, and most recently on Great Cranberry Island, Maine, the culmination of a fellowship. Lacomb received from the Heliker-LaHotan Foundation of New York to work on location in Maine. She also presented lectures for the foundation while in Maine.
As an artist, Lacomb believes that life mean ongoing transition.
The public is invited to meet Lacomb and hear her discuss the Northwestern State exhibition at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 in Room 206 of the Fine Arts Annex. The exhibition will remain open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursdays and 8 a.m. noon Fridays.
