The Art of Chestee Harrington
Please join us at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum as Chestee Harrington talks about her career as an artist and her upcoming exhibition, "Tranquility Above the Circus: A Journey from December 5th, 1941."
In a career that spans six decades, Chestee Harrington has created an extraordinary body of wok that captures Louisiana's landscapes and cultures, its people and their stories. She describes her genre as "spiritual expressionism." Chestee has lived in many places, including New York City and a houseboat in the salt marsh, way down below New Orleans near Lake Borgne. She lives and works in her native Louisiana, where she is still capturing light and telling stories.
Free and open to the public.
