The Burt Clark Foundation Weekend
The Burt Clark Foundation's RunForBurt 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser is in memory of Natchitoches native Burt Clark, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and citizen. Burt was an avid runner and cyclist who tragically transitioned his life way too soon. Burt was committed to encouraging, inspiring, and motivating everyone he met to engage in a more active and healthier lifestyle anchored in fitness.
Burt did not just encourage others, he led by example by participating in numerous events annually, including the Atlanta Peachtree Road Race, Calloway Gardens Triathlon/Duathlon and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Beta Lambda Lambda Chapter's 5K/10K event. Burt passionately believed everyone should "get up and move" regardless of age, gender, physical ability, or socioeconomic standing.
The Burt Clark Foundation will continue Burt's passion for inspiring and motivating healthier lifestyle choices, and through your generous donations and proceeds from BCF events will award two college scholarships annually to deserving high school seniors that will be graduating from Burt's high school alma mater Natchitoches Central High School or that will be attending Burt's college alma mater Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
This Annual RunForBurt 5K Run/Walk fundraiser event will take place at Northwestern State University on Saturday October 5, 2024. Both in-person and virtual participation opportunities will be available for all age groups, including children, youth and adults. A map of the Collins Pavilion location can be found here.
