Members of NAG have generously donated original works to be auctioned to the highest bidder at an event scheduled for Friday, July 13th in the Natchitoches Art Gallery. The auction items will be on display in the gallery windows beginning July 3rd, and will remain there until the evening of the auction. A social/preview will begin at 5:00 with the bidding beginning at 6:00. Commissioner Foster Campbell has graciously agreed to serve as auctioneer. Options for absentee bidding are available for those wishing to participate but are unable to attend the event. Everyone is invited/encouraged to attend and join in the fun. All proceeds will be used to support gallery operations and special programs.

How Special Is This! These images are painted on a bucket donated by Joan Edwards, our president. They were painted by Linda Lyles, one of our top selling members. NAG members are filling the bucket, which measures 21 ½ inches long x 13 ½ inches wide x 8 ½” deep with treasures from our artists. Some of the items are purchased, like a Louisiana cookbook, seasonings, a metal fleur de lis wall hanging, and some are made by our member artists. Those include prints as well as original painted items, jellies from La Caboose Jellies, cards, scroll saw puzzles … the list goes on. The painted bucket filled with Louisiana themed goodies being raffled as a fund raiser to help cover the expenses of special art programs. Tickets are just $1.00 each and can be purchased from guild members or at the gallery on Front Street. The painted bucket alone is valued at $350.00, and a quick tally of the donated items revealed items which top $300.00, and not everything has come in yet. I could almost cover my Christmas gift list with the contents. (I’d definitely keep the bucket for myself). The winning ticket will be drawn during the Art Auction. The winner need not be present, but shipping is not available. The winner must be able to pick up the bucket or make arrangements on his/her own.
