About this Job

The Creole Heritage Center at Northwestern State University is looking to fill a part-time (20 to 25 hours/week) Clerk position. Ideally, the person in this position will be responsible for assisting the Center's Director and other Center staff on projects reliant on engagement with Louisiana Creoles in Louisiana and throughout the nation. This includes helping visitors, researchers, and others interested in Louisiana Creole genealogy, culture, and history; as well as potential projects that help the Center connect with other Creole-related organizations and communities and create Center resources, events, and exhibits.

This is an in-person position in Natchitoches, LA, but travel beyond Natchitoches about once every one to two months to attend Creole-related organization meetings may be required. Some flexibility in hours to attend virtually or in person meetings or events during the evening or weekend is also preferred.
