If you are a Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technologies, or related field Student looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Natchitoches, Louisiana location, you will improve your skills learned in the classroom by balancing the priorities of multiple engineering teams and projects. You will collaborate with different departments in addition to their own, in areas such as Manufacturing, Quality, Continues Improvement, etc. You will need to be willing to spend time in a manufacturing setting and be willing to work in an office setting. Your responsibilities will combine individual tasks as well as collaborative work or group projects.
AS A MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CO-OP, RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO YOU:
- Assisting with various research, testing, and evaluations
- Processing documentation and conducting data analysis
- Repairing and modifying manufacturing equipment
- Attending department, team and project meetings as necessary
- Assisting with process improvement projects tied to manufacturing
- Collaborating with other engineers, teams and departments
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Undergraduate Student currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
- Ability to work 40 hours a week during the scheduled semester
- Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Undergraduate Student currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Sophomore or higher class standing
- Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and PC skills including Microsoft Office
- Previous Co-op or Intern Experience with Copeland or another company
- Reliable transportation

About Our Location
Alliance Compressors LLC develops, manufactures, and markets one through six-ton scroll compressors. Scroll compressors are used in commercial and residential air conditioning units. The current facility is over 365,000 square feet of manufacturing space and over 35,000 square feet of office space. This climate-controlled facility is the third-largest manufacturing business in the area, and offers its 600+ employees many opportunities for advancement.
