Friends of the NPL Mini Book Sale Returns for 2026

Natchitoches, LA, May 12, 2026 - The Friends of the Natchitoches Parish Library invites the community to browse hundreds of affordable titles at their Mini Book Sale, running May 15 through May 30 at the Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) Main Branch. With books, audiobooks, movies, and more available for just 50 cents each, the sale offers an easy way to build a summer reading collection while directly supporting free library programs for the entire community. 

The sale is located in the NPL Main Branch's third-floor meeting room and runs during regular library hours, Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library will be closed on Sundays and on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26. The sale accepts exact cash or checks made out to "Friends of the NPL."

"Our Friends group assists us in offering rich programs and experiences that serve residents of all ages," said NPL Deputy Director Alan Niette. "Every purchase at this sale directly supports that work and it's a wonderful deal for shoppers and a meaningful investment in our community."

Every dollar spent at the sale supports the FoNPL, a nonprofit organization that helps to fund library programming, classes, and events throughout the year, including sponsoring refreshments at all after-hours library programs. These contributions help ensure that NPL can continue providing free educational and recreational opportunities for residents of all ages across Natchitoches Parish.

The sale runs through Saturday, May 30, the same day as NPL's Summer Reading Program Kick-off celebration on the Main Branch's front lawn. Families joining the festivities are encourages to stop by the third-floor meeting room and pick up a few great reads before the summer fun gets underway.
