Library to Host Free Tax Prep Service

Natchitoches, LA, March 10, 2025 - The Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) will again host free tax preparation services for senior adults and college students who live, work, or go to school in Natchitoches Parish on March 19 and 20.

The certified tax professionals from Community Tax Services LCC, of Baton Rouge will be offering no-cost filling assistance with federal and state tax forms from 10 AM to 4 PM Wednesday, March 19 and 9 AM to 4 PM Friday, March 20 in the 3rd floor meeting room of NPL's Main Branch at 450 Second St. in Natchitoches. This program is offered free to all senior adults and college students, regardless of their income or background. 

Attendees should bring all necessary and relevant documents and are encouraged to sign up for a reminder by calling 318-238-9224. Assistance will be given on a first come, first served basis. 

"We're grateful to the volunteers from Community Tax Services for returning to our library again this year," says Alan Niette, NPL Deputy Director. "Tax preparation can be stressful for many people. Regardless of whether is filing a 1040 or determining which expenses can be itemized, Community Tax Services staff will help individuals navigate the tax code, find credits and deductions, and accurately file their taxes."

The NPL offers a wide range of services and resources to residents, students, and workers in Natchitoches Parish. In addition to hosting tax preparation services, the library provides access to books, audiobooks, e-books, and other media, as well as educational programs and events for all ages. The NPL has Federal 1040 forms and instructional booklets available inside the First Floor Entrance. Louisiana tax forms may be printed from the Louisiana Department of Revenue website in the NPL's computer lab on the second floor; instructional booklets may also be printed or a patron can request a copy be mailed to their home, at no cost.
