Northwestern State Recognized Nationally for Offering One of the Most Affordable Online Web Development Degrees

NATCHITOCHES - Northwestern State University has earned national recognition from OnlineU for offering one of the most affordable online bachelor's degrees in web development, making high-quality tech education more accessible than ever.

The new ranking by OnlineU places NSU in a select group of institutions recognized for helping students build strong careers in technology without the burden of excessive student debt.

"This recognition is an honor for our program," said Dr. Curtis Penrod, director of NSU's School of Business. "Many potential students are naturally concerned about the cost of obtaining a bachelor's degree so being honored as being one of the most affordable degrees in the country should reassure those students about the value of our program. Students can come here and get a quality education at a lower cost than many other institutions."

The website praised NSU for allowing students to specialize within web development, with pathways in application development, cybersecurity or information systems management, providing a customized learning experience based on career goals. NSU also fosters industry connections and mentorship through internships and business partnerships, increasing real-world job placement opportunities.

OnlineU said web development is a rapidly growing field, with job opportunities in nearly every industry. NSU was recognized for its online bachelor's program that gives students the tools to succeed, with coursework in coding, user experience design and front- and back-end development. Students also gain hands-on experience with real-world projects which is essential part of building job-ready skills in today's tech world.

OnlineU's rankings (https://www.onlineu.com/most-affordable-colleges/web-development-degrees) were based on several key factors, including tuition costs, full program availability online and data from the National Center for Education Statistics.

"The recognition is a testament to NSU's commitment to student success, affordability and flexibility - qualities that are especially important for working adults and students balancing multiple responsibilities," said Penrod.
