The Northwestern State University Division of Mathematics invites applications for a full­time faculty position in Mathematics at the rank of instructor, beginning in the fall 2026 semester.

Minimum Qualifications

A master's degree in Mathematics or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in mathematics is required. The successful candidate will teach general education courses in mathematics, including corequisite offerings. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at this level. The position is located on the main campus in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

 

Job Duties and Other Information

•Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, service, and professional development.
•Teach on-line and face-to-face general education courses, including co requisite offerings.
•Prepare and submit course syllabi, outlines, and learning objectives.
•Maintain class schedule and accurate records.
•Deliver course instruction in accordance with approved curricula.
•Utilize a variety of effective teaching strategies appropriate to the learning environment.
•Evaluate student performance and submit grades in a timely manner.
•Participate in the periodic review of course materials.
•Maintain appropriate disciplinary expertise through ongoing professional development.
•Demonstrate knowledge of and alignment with departmental goals and objectives
•Participate in faculty meetings and serve on departmental and university committees as assigned.
•Engage in scholarly and professional activities, which may include grant writing, research, publications, and presentations.
•Maintain confidentiality in accordance with federal regulations and university policy.
•Represent the department in recruitment and retention activities, including those held outside normal working hours.
•Engage in professional and community service.
