Custodian Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • U.S. Citizen or Authorized Alien
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Louisiana Driver’s License
  • Satisfactory completion of 2 hour asbestos awareness training course within 60 days of employment.
  • Custodial training bundle and vector training completion within allotted time frame upon completion of.
  • CPR training completion upon request of Supervisor.
  • Must be able to read and understand the job duties and product directions.
  • Must be dependable, Honest, and Reliable
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
  • Must pass a physical examination.
  • Must at least have 2 years custodian experience.
  • Must be willing to cross train.
  • Must be at work on time.
  • Must notify Supervisor and Secretary of any absences, tardies or early dismissal prior to.
  • Must do all other duties assigned by Supervisor

Life Safety Coordinator, MaintenanceSupervisor,Principal, and Superintendent.

JOB OVERVIEW:

To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place to learn and develop.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A Custodian Supervisor must be able to complete all job duties and responsibilities in a timely manner.

  • Supervise all head custodians and custodial staff.
  • Monitor schools and the cleanliness of them bi-weekly
  • Helps with all inventory and equipment needs.
  • Keeps school inventory log updated and trails usage.
  • Fill in and help when needed.
  • Schedule crews to maintenance floors.
  • Works with principles to provide extra help when needed for special projects and unforeseen circumstances.
  • Must do safety sweeps of the facilities while on site and reports those to the supervisors.
  • Must perform his/her duties both inside and outside. The Custodian can be exposed to temperature variations of hot and cold. Biological and chemical exposures are present. Surfaces can be slippery, wet and a variety of inclines.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
  • Lifting, medium, up to 50 pounds.
  • Carrying, medium, up to 50 pounds.
  • Intermittent walking, standing, climbing, bending, pushing, reaching.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures and or Dampness.
  • Work around machinery with moving parts.
  • Specific visual requirements(reading of product labels, direction/equipment operation)
  • Specific Hearing Requirements (oral and phone conversation)

  • Exhibits loyalty in the promotion of the district’s goals.  Completes a self-evaluation annually.
  • Develops and implements Individual Growth Plan (IGP) annually.
  • Reports job-related injuries within 48 hours of the incident to the Director of Human Resources. (“Job related injuries” include, but are not limited to, any accident or illness which involves loss of consciousness, restriction of work motion, or medical treatment.)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with Louisiana Department of Education and Natchitoches Parish School Board policy.

** A Custodian Supervisor is considered essential personnel and may be required to report to work in an emergency situation to assist school district staff in securing, protecting or assessing damage to facilities.
