Position Summary

 

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in our facilities. This includes performing a variety of cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, and restocking supplies. This is a part time position.

 

Work Schedule:

• Monday-Friday 5PM to 9PM

• Occasional weekends may be required

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other public areas regularly

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, carpets, and surfaces

• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners

• Clean and Sanitize appliances

• Restock supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap

• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass doors

• Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the supervisor

• Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies

• Secure the building by locking doors and windows when required

 

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Proven experience as a janitor or in a similar role is a plus

• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

• Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Basic understanding of safety protocols

 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work evening shifts, including occasional weekends as needed.

• Ability to consistently adhere to the assigned work schedule and complete tasks within established timeframes

• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds independently or with mechanical assistance.

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing stairs and ladders throughout the shift.

• Use of hands and arms to handle tools, operate cleaning equipment (e.g., buffers, vacuums, mop wringers), and perform routine cleaning tasks.

• Ability to see and hear within normal ranges, including vision adequate to identify spills, debris, and unsafe conditions.

• Must be able to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English, including safety procedures, work orders, and chemical labels.

• Must be able to work in an industrial manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, dust, odors, temperature extremes, and occasionally confined spaces.

• Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, as required.

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and sustain physical activity for extended periods of time throughout the shift.
