Installs, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs building/facilities machinery, equipment, physical structures, and utilities systems by performing all required duties.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate Degree in Technical Field and 2 years’ experience in facilities/plant maintenance or a minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a facilities/plant environment. Certification in Boiler and HVAC systems preferred. Must have strong knowledge of Utility, Boiler, HVAC, and Air Compressor systems and codes.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The team member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to climb or balance.  The team member must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds or more.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate all equipment repairs/changes/modifications with engineering supervision.
  • Perform installation, diagnostics and repairs on facility equipment and systems: Electrical service, wiring, switch gear; Plumbing system; HVAC system; Boiler system; Air Compressor system.
  • Working with facilities drawings and electrical/plumbing schematics, diagnose problem, initiate orders for and install new or repaired parts.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Install and repair electrical components, such as transformers, relays, switches, switch gear, wiring, printed circuit boards, etc. of machinery and equipment.
  • Assembles, installs, and maintains water, steam, and pneumatic plumbing systems, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Maintain Boiler system chemical treatment.
  • Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
  • Install, program, or repair programmable controllers.
