Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, education, higher education, or a closely related human services field is required
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing case management or individualized student support in an educational or human services setting
  • Experience coordinating referrals and supporting at-risk populations
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including first-generation and low­ income students
  • Experience managing student caseloads and coordinating referrals across multiple offices
  • Experience supporting students in educational or human services settings

  • Ability to proactively identify student needs and develop collaborative solutions
  • Strong partnership-building skills across campus units

Job Specification

Position Overview 
The Student Success Case Manager is a full-time, 12-month position funded through the Title Ill Elevate-U initiative at Northwestern State University. This position plays a central role in advancing institutional retention, credit momentum, and degree completion goals by providing proactive, coordinated, and data-informed support to undergraduate students. 
The Student Success Case Manager collaborates closely with the Director of Elevate-U, the Senior Faculty Mentor, Faculty Mentors, Resident Mentors, the Academic Success Center, university faculty, and academic advisors to identify, monitor, and support students who may be at academic risk. The position serves as a connector across campus units, coordinating efforts with Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Academic Advising Services, academic departments, and other relevant offices to ensure students receive timely and integrated support.
Through structured outreach, case management, and progress monitoring, the Student Success Case Manager helps students navigate academic pathways, access campus resources, overcome barriers, and maintain momentum toward timely degree completion. The position also collaborates with Elevate-U leadership to support the implementation of high-impact practices within first- and second-year experiences and contributes to program assessment, data collection, and reporting efforts aligned with Title Ill grant objectives.

Job Duties and Other Information

Case Management and Student Support:

  • Provide individualized case management to undergraduate students identified as academically at risk
  • Conduct proactive outreach aligned with Title Ill benchmarks and institutional retention goals
  • Monitor academic progress and coordinate referrals to appropriate campus resources
  • Assist students in navigating academic pathways and maintaining credit momentum toward degree completion
Cross Campus Collaboration
  • Conduct outreach to academic units including Deans, Department Chairs, faculty, and adjunct instructors to strengthen communication regarding student progress and early intervention strategies
  • Collaborate with the Director of Elevate-U, Senior Faculty Mentor, Faculty Mentors, and Student Mentors to align student success initiatives and interventions
Elevate-U Learning Communities and Programming
  • Coordinate programming for Elevate-U Learning Communities
  • Support and coordinate the efforts of Resident Mentors and Faculty Mentors
  • Maintain an annual calendar of student success programming aligned with grant objectives
Data Collection, Reporting, and Grant Alignment
  • Track student participation in Elevate-U programming and initiatives
  • Support collection and organization of program participation and outcome data•Participate in monthly reporting meetings and contribute to Quarterly Reports and Annual Performance Reports (APR)
  • Review Title Ill benchmarks and align program activities with grant objectives
Planning and Budget Development
  • Identify programmatic needs based on participation data and grant benchmarks
  • Contribute recommendations to the annual program budget
  • Submit budget recommendations to the Director of Elevate-U for review
  • Ensure proposed activities align with allowable Title Ill expenditures
Program Assessment and Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate with the Senior Faculty Mentor to review program assessment findings and evaluate student success outcomes
  • Recommend program adjustments based on data analysis
  • Present program outcomes and best practices through reports, campus presentations, or professional forums
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of Elevate-U programming
